Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month
Also known as Brain Health Awareness Month, is observed during this month, and it’s a time to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, encouraging discussions and understanding of these public health issues. It focuses on raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. It’s a time to educate the public, support those affected, and promote proactive brain health. The Alzheimer’s Association states that purple is the official color of the Alzheimer’s movement.
Men’s Health Month
This is observed during this month to raise awareness about men’s health issues and encourage men to prioritize their well-being. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services promotes the month to encourage healthy living practices among men and their families.
· Its Purpose: Men’s Health Month aims to educate men about various health concerns, promote preventive care, and encourage them to schedule regular check-ups.
· Focus: The month often highlights issues like heart disease, cancer, and mental health, as well as the importance of physical activity and balanced nutrition.
· Mental Health: Mental Health America and the International Men’s Health Month website also recognize June as Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month and it aims to heighten awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment in men and boys. This includes promoting healthy lifestyles, regular checkups, and addressing specific health issues that men face.
